When the area’s previous hospital closed in 2007, more than a million residents of Los Angeles County were left underserved. This sparked a public-private partnership among Los Angeles County, Martin Luther King Jr. Los Angeles Healthcare Corporation and regents from the University of California to construct an entirely new hospital campus, which included the 52,000 SF, two-story MOB that sits at the entrance of the campus.
Level 1 includes imaging, pharmacy, dialysis, dental and clinics while Level 2 houses ambulatory surgery with four operating rooms, prep/recovery, sterile processing, wound care and infusion. The building also includes shelled space for future expansion.
