The 330,000 SF Acute Care Replacement Tower for the Alameda County Highland Hospital is a nine-story, 160-bed facility designed to meet current seismic standards of SB 1953 and SB 306. The tower houses all inpatient functions and includes Interventional Services, Imaging, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Med/Surg, Biomedical, Food Services, Clinical Laboratory and Pathology, Critical Care/ICU, NICU, Labor and Delivery, Respiratory Therapy, EVS and Materials Management.
In addition to the replacement patient tower, an 80,000 SF medical office building, including an urgent care clinic, will help to alleviate the stress on the Level 2 trauma center’s Emergency Department by serving approximately 35,000 patients annually. Highlighted departments of the Medical Office Building include: Urgent Care, Cardiac Clinic, GI Clinic, Hematology/Oncology Clinic, Imaging, Non-Invasive Diagnostics, Infusion Center, Respiratory Therapy.
Highland Hospital is a nationally recognized teaching hospital that has been training outstanding physicians since it opened in 1927. Affiliated with the UCSF Medical Center and UOP, programs offered include: Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
